  Rain suspected as cause of single car crash web posted March 11, 2010  NORTHSIDE – An
Edgefield County man was
transported to the MCG Trauma Unit Wednesday afternoon after a single
car crash on Highway 25 shortly after noon. The man, who was traveling
southbound on Highway 25 near Pleasant Lane lost control of his car
after hydroplaning and struck several trees in front of a nearby home.The driver was able to crawl from the overturned Chrysler 300 after the crash and was treated by First Responders until EMS officials arrived on the scene. The man complained of lower back pains and had cuts to both hands after the crash.  He was immobilized
and later transported by ambulance to MCG for
further treatment. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and did not provide any details. The driver stated he lost control after hitting a wet spot in the roadway. The condition of the driver was not available although his injuries were not considered to be serious. © Copyright 2010
