 Buyer has Sheriff’s Office run check before purchase, discovers stolen ATV web posted July 2, 2009 NORTHSIDE – A Walker Road man who was interested in buying a $4,500 4-wheeler with a friend decided to check with the Sheriff’s Office before making the purchase Tuesday night to assure that the ATV was not stolen. A deputy arrived at the home and ran the vehicle identification number for the prospective buyers. Dispatch radioed back that the ATV was in fact stolen. According to the records check the red Honda TRX350 was stolen from a Trenton man on Woodward Lake Road. Reports did not indicate the date of the original theft. The ATV was towed from the scene for safekeeping until it could be returned to its rightful owner. Investigators have taken over the case and are trying to locate the North Augusta man who was trying to sell the ATV. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday night in the case. © Copyright 2009
