Northside Woman Reports Night Hunters

web posted August 25, 2014

NORTHSIDE   An elderly Northside woman living on rural Highway 378 east called the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office to report what she believes are hunters in the surrounding forests in the area shooting at night on more than one occasion.

A deputy met with the woman who said the shots are coming from the woods around her house during the nighttime hours. The deputy took the report and informed the woman she should also contact the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), which the woman did following speaking with the deputy.

The deputy informed the woman to call the Sheriff's Office the next times she hears shots so that they can patrol the area and try to identify the hunters and what they are hunting.

The deputy also faxed a copy of the incident report to SCDNR to make sure they were advised of the complaint.
