Mr. Leonard C. "L. C." Atkinson

NORTH AUGUSTA – Funeral Services for Mr.
Leonard C. "L. C." Atkinson, 82, of Big Oak Drive, North Augusta, SC,
who entered into rest November 27, 2011 will be conducted Wednesday
afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Sweetwater Church of God. Pastor
Phillip Napier officiating. Interment in Corinth Baptist Church
Cemetery, New Ellenton. Mr. Atkinson was a native of Darlington County,
SC, having made Aiken County his home for the past 50 years. He was a
member of Sweetwater Church of God and retired from DSM Chemical with
30 years of service. Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by his late
wife, Faye Atkinson, his son-in-law, Thurmond G. Lewis, a
step-grandson, Noah R. Lewis, two brothers, Ruddy Atkinson and Harold
Atkinson and a sister, Mildred Premo. He was a Jack of All Trades, a
loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and going
to Lake Santee. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Ann Ingram
Atkinson; a son and daughter-in-law, Lenny and Sherrie Atkinson, New
Ellenton; a daughter, Judy A. Lewis, North Augusta; five step-sons and
their wives, Earl Ingram, Joe and Carrie Ingram, New Ellenton, Zeke and
Kaye Ingram, Los Alamos, NM, Mike and June Ingram, Williston and Gary
Ingram, Aiken; a step-daughter and her husband, Jeanne and Carl Lewis,
North Augusta; a brother, Hallie Atkinson, Orangeburg, SC; two sisters,
Jeannette Brown, Marion, SC and Leona Hancock, Mt. Croghan, SC; four
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren
and twelve step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Clay Lewis,
Lee Atkinson, Carl Lewis, J. R. Lewis, Tony Atkinson and Stevie
McCaskill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this
Tuesday evening from 6 until 8. Memorials may be made to the Sweetwater
Church of God, 1444 Edgefield Road, North Augusta, SC 29860. Posey
