web posted December 19, 2005 MERRIWETHER – Judy Barnes, a missionary and member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church in Merriwether who returned to the United States from Malawi Africa when cancer was discovered just a few months ago, passed away Sunday morning December 18, 2005. Arrangements are being handled by Rowland Funeral Home at 637 West Martintown Road in North Augusta, SC. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rowland Funeral Home. The burial will be Thursday morning at 10:00 am at Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church at 1850 West Martintown Road in Merriwether. Mrs. Barnes will be buried in the adjacent cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requested a memorial contribution be made to "SIM-USA'' P.O.Box 7900, Charlotte, NC 28241-7900 and be designated "for the Judy Barnes Memorial Fund". The gifts will be sent to the Partners In Hope ministry in Malawi, which is used to treat HIV patients and take care of those children orphaned by AIDS parents. This was a special ministry dear to Mrs. Barnes' heart throughout her and her husband's missionary service in Malawi for 16 years. Rowland Funeral Home at 803-278-2525 For
