Thelma Wilson Birt

TRENTON – Mrs. Thelma Wilson Birt, wife of
the late David O. Birt, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 15, 2009
at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held on
Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at Rowland Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Jimmy Coyle and Rev. Carl Hayes officiating. Interment will
follow in Pineview Memorial Park. Mrs. Birt was a member of Immanuel
Baptist Church and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was
also a foster grandparent at Belvedere Elementary School. Survivors
include two daughters, Linda Sims (Major) of Beech Island, SC and
Beverly Stewart of Trenton, SC; two brothers, Frank Wilson of
Allendale, SC and Howard Wilson of Warner Robins, GA; one sister, Inez
McCollum of North Augusta, SC; two grandchildren, Nikki Stewart and
Travis Birt; and one great granddaughter, Lydia Stewart. She was
preceded in death by her son, David Michael Birt. Pallbearers will be
Ronald McCollum, James McCollum, Cody McCollum, Andrew McCollum, Jerry
McCarty and Kevin Hunt. The family will receive friends at the funeral
home this evening from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to The Foster
Grandparent Project, 291 Beaufort St. NW (Hwy 118 Bypass), Aiken, SC
