Bennett (Jim) Bordenweb posted March 30, 2009 JOHNSTON – Mr. James Bennett (Jim) Borden, 82, of Calhoun St., husband of the late Vivian Turner Borden, died Sunday March 29, 2009 at the V. A. Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 2, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with burial at Pine View Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites and Military Honors. Mr. Borden was born in Rome, Ga. and was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church. He was the former owner of Borden Pest Control. He was U. S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Concordia Lodge # 50. He was a Mason and Shriner and served on the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital Committee. Survivors include 3 Sons- Steve Borden, Leesville, Stan Borden, Saluda, Richard Borden, Augusta; 1 Brother- Joe Borden, Atlanta; 2 Sisters- Betty Whittmore, Maryville, TN, Shirley Patterson, Atlanta; 8 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren. A special friend Jean Pitts. Mr. Borden was predeceased by a Grandson, Dennis Borden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday April 1, 2009 at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. © Copyright 2009
