Thomas O. T. O. Boykin

NORTH AUGUSTA – Funeral Services for Mr.
Thomas O. T.
O. Boykin, 84, of Gregory Lake Road, North Augusta, SC, who entered
into rest May 15, 2011 will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3
o'clock from the Fairview Presbyterian Church. Dr. G. Daniel McCall
officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park with Veterans Honors
and Masonic Rites. Mr. Boykin was a native of Camden, SC having made
North Augusta his home for the past 60 years. He was a 1951 graduate of
Clemson College, a US Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of
Fairview Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon and
Chairman of the Ushering Committee. Mr. Boykin was a member of the
Acacia Masonic Lodge #315 AFM, North Augusta Optimist Club where he had
served as President and a life member of Jessie C. Lynch Memorial
American Legion Post #71. He had been active in local PTA's having
served as President, volunteered at the Veteran's Administration
Hospital and the North Augusta Department of Recreation and was a
former member of the Belvedere Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors
include his wife of 60 years, Zonelle Brock Boykin; a son, Tom Boykin,
Aiken; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Tommy Head, Greenville, SC;
four grandchildren, Katie Head, Allison Miller, Josh Boykin and Jake
Boykin; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Sowell, Camden, SC.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #315
AFM and the Jessie C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #71. Active
Pallbearers will be John Nicholls, Rick Babb, Matt Sowell, Craig
Boykin, and Thomas Baldwin. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home this Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. Memorials may be
made to the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #71 Building
Fund, PO Box 6036, North Augusta, SC 29861. Posey Funeral Directors of
