Martha Dixon Bryan

EDGEFIELD – Mrs. Martha Dixon Bryan, 87, of Bartley Rd., wife of the late Ernest Rhett Bryan, Sr., entered into rest April 21, 2010 at Edgefield County Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday April 23, 2010 at Berea Baptist Church with burial at Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Bryan was a native of Avera, Ga., and was the daughter of the late George and Florrie Gibbs Dixon. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church where she taught  Sunday School for 55 years and served as the Church’s first Hostess. She was retired from Riegal/Mt. Vernon Mills.

Survivors include two sons- Ernest R. (Bubba) Bryan, Jr. and his wife Penny, Edgefield, Dixon B. Bryan and his wife Dianne, Ninety Six, S.C. 8 Grandchildren and 14 Grandchildren. Mrs. Bryan was predeceased by her husband, her daughter- Mary Louise Lesesne Mitchell, 2 brothers- Ralph and Gibbs Dixon.

Memorials may be made to Berea Baptist Church Building Fund, 508 Bausket St.
Edgefield, S.C. 29824 or to Little Stevens Creek Cemetery Fund, 1146 Hwy 378 East Edgefield, S.C. 29824.

The family is at the home on Bartley Rd. and will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
