Bettye Ann Langley Butler

PLUM BRANCH – Bettye Ann Langley Butler. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Friend, and Teacher passed away peacefully on December 4, 2008. Bettye was born in Plum Branch, South Carolina on May 15, 1933. She graduated from McCormick High School and attended Winthrop College. She married James Ellis Butler in 1953  and moved to Virginia shortly after where they lived for 41 years and raised their family.

She is survived by her loving husband James, her sons Jim Butler and his wife, Terri; Bill Butler and his wife, Mona; her daughter Winnie Sue Lynott and her husband, Larry; her grandchildren, Twyla Butler, Cecilia Butler, Arthur Butler, Zachary Butler, Matthew Butler, Dylan Butler, and Patrick Lynott; and her sister Winnie (Winky) Friedrich and her husband Larry, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Emanuel and Rebekah Lankford Langley and by her brother George Langley, Jr.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday December 8th.  Funeral service is  11:00 AM Tuesday December 9th.  Both will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Plum Branch, SC. 

Donations can be made to St Paul United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 9, Plum Branch, SC 29845.

Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
