Obituary
Rebecca
Blandford Campbell
web
posted August 8, 2008
North Augusta, SC — Funeral services for
Mrs. Rebecca Blandford Campbell, 60, of Shoreline Drive East, North
Augusta, SC, who entered into rest August 2, 2008, will be conducted
Tuesday morning at 10:30 from Fairview Presbyterian Church. Dr. Robert
F. Fuller, Jr., and Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Interment in
Sweetwater Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell was a native of Augusta, a former
resident of Waynesboro and Conyers, Georgia, having made North Augusta
her home for the past 12 years. She was a member of Fairview
Presbyterian Church, a retired Registered Nurse and Vice President of
the 1210 Land Company. Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late
Joseph Roland and Nora Weede Blandford. Becky fought a long and heroic
battle against brain cancer GBM4. Living 5 ¾ years from known
onset she was at the head of her class of survivors. Without the help
of her true daughter April Turner, her sisters Annie Bell Hammonds,
Mattie Curry, & Susanne Dunton, and her brothers Irving Richardson
& Donnie Dunton the journey would have been impossible. Kinship
goes beyond blood and we are grateful for their services as well as our
minister, Dr. Robert F. Fuller, Jr. and Dr. G. Daniel McCall who
visited more than 200 times during the illness, Pat Bible who
introduced Tim & Becky more than 40 years ago and who was at
Becky’s bedside when she passed into eternity, and Deena Latargia and
the other Heartland Hospice staff who provided care, love, and support
for us both. We also express gratitude to the Clifton family. Survivors
include her husband of 12 years, Tim R. Campbell, one son, Anthony
Wong, Miami, FL; two daughters and a son-in-law, Eleanor and Elson
Cornett and Lee Ann Wong all of Houston, TX; two stepsons and a step
daughter-in-law, Timothy R. Campbell, Jr.; Charles Rogers and Carolyn
Campbell all of North Augusta; a step-daughter, Madeleine Margaret
Campbell, Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren, Rebecca “Becca” Cornett,
Sierra Campbell, Charles “C.J.” Campbell, Jr., and Cameron Campbell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernest Posey, Tom Cupstid and members of
the 319th Transportation Company RVN 1968-69. Active Pallbearers will
be Donald Dunton, Ed Heath, Rodney L. Clifton, Stanley A. Clifton,
Jimmie Kirkland and Bill Patterson. The family will receive friends at
the residence, 436 Shoreline Drive East this Monday evening from 6 to
8. Memorials may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church Building Fund,
1101 Carolina Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841, Children’s Medical
Center c/o Medical College of Georgia, 1120 15th Street, BA 8270,
