EDGEFIELD – Jesse J. Eggers, 97, died May 29, 2011,
at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Edgefield, SC. Jesse was born
March 19, 1914, in Watauga County, NC. He was preceded in death by his
parents, one brother, three sisters, and his wife of 55 years, Janie
Fuller Eggers, who died in 1994. Jesse served in the U.S. Navy in the
Pacific in World War II. He had been a resident of Edgefield since 1945
and was a member of the Edgefield United Methodist Church. Survivors
include daughters Jessica Harris, Edgefield; Kathy Driggers, FL; Angela
Walton, KY; Donna Nichols, MD; five grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. Jesse's family has honored his wish of donating
his body to the Medical College of Georgia. There will be no visitation
