Mrs. Golda Lee Ratner Fox

Obituary – Mrs. Golda Lee Ratner Fox, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.Golda was born October 11, 1928, in New Orleans, LA, and was the widow of Raymond Fox and the daughter of the late Rae E. and Jacobi Joseph Ratner. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Ratner of DesPlaines, IL, and devoted aunt, Bessie E. Danish, Savannah, GA.

She is survived buy her three children, Marshall Fox of Atlanta, GA, and life partner, Linda, David Fox and wife Jan of Birmingham, AL, and Carolyn Moskowitz and husband Bruce of Wilmington, NC; and eight grandchildren, Alyse Fox Ramer, Melissa Fox, Rachel Fox, Daniel Fox, Lauren Moskowitz, Debra Fox, Adam Moskowitz and Austin Moskowitz; and one great-granddaughter, Madeline Ramer.

She is also survived by one brother, Soloman Ratner and wife Pat of Sun City, AZ.
Formerly of Johnston, SC, Golda and Raymond were owner of Morray Jewelers for 50 years. She was a member of Congregation Children of Israel Synagogue in Augusta, GA. Golda was an active member of Johnston Jaycettes, where she won the 1st place trophy for the most hours devoted to Jaycee work. She was also a member of the Merchants Association for 50 years. While living in Johnston, Golda was a much sought after bridal consultant where she helped many brides, then later their children and their grandchildren.

Golda moved to be near her daughter in October 1999, where she worked at Cape Fear Hospital Gift Garden for over four years. She was a member of B'Nai Israel Synagogue. The Family is grateful to Dr. James McCabe for his outstanding care and loving support for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. today, October 3, 2007, in the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel by Rabbi Robert Waxman. The interment will be in B'Nai Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to B'Nai Israel Synagogue, 2601 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, NC 28405
