Hattie Mae Gilliam Phillips

EDGEFIELD – Hattie Mae Gilliam Phillips, 87, died on September 4, 2009. Born in Edgefield County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Willis and Carrie Coates Gilliam. She was a member of Willow Spring Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, Alfreda (Hodges) Bush, Edgefield, S.C.; six sons, Henry James (Jeanette) Phillips and Raymond (Lillie) Phillips, both of Greenwood, S.C., Johnny Phillips, Maple (Janie) Phillips, Jr., and Willie A. (Wallatte) Phillips, all of Edgefield, S.C.; brother, Wallace (Willie Mae) Gilliam, Saluda, S.C.; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Willow Spring Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Hodges Bush. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of daughter, Alfreda (Hodges) Bush, 1100 Meeting Street Road, Edgefield, S.C. Butler & Sons Funeral Home, Saluda, S.C., is in charge.
