EDGEFIELD – Mrs. Florence Hamilton
Jackson, 92, of Meeting St. Rd., wife of the late Homer Jackson, died
Friday June 6, 2008 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral Services will
be held at 11 A.M. Monday June 9, 2008 at Edgefield United Methodist
Church with burial in Eastview Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson was born in
Edgefield County and was a member of Edgefield United Methodist Church.
She retired from Edgefield County Schools in 1975 after 25 years of
teaching and loving hundreds of first graders. Following retirement she
dedicated her time to her family and her church where her primary
interest was children's education. Survivors include two daughters-
Virginia (Mark) Crawford, Beth (Bill) Cali, both of Edgefield; one son,
Jack (Billie Ray) Jackson, Seneca; one brother, Briggs Hamilton, North
Augusta; six grandchildren, Eddie Caddell, David Caddell, Matt Martin,
Jenny Yonce, Mandy Hackney, Will Jackson, and nine great-grandchildren.
Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to
Edgefield United Methodist Church Children's Ministry, P.O. Box 25
Edgefield, S.C. 29824 or to the Epworth Children's Home 2900 Millwood
Ave., P.O. Box 50466 Columbia, S.C. 29250. The family is at the new log
home of Beth Cali on meeting St. Rd. and will receive friends from 4 to
6 P.M. Sunday at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
