Holmesweb posted March 11, 2009 JOHNSTON – Funeral services for Mr. Allen Holmes will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Walk of Faith Tabernacle in Johnston, S.C. with the Apostle Roger Edward, Pastor, Elder Lorenzo Williams, Eulogist. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include: a loving wife, Clorie 'Peggy' Holmes of the home; a daughter, Ethel (Alonzo) Chinn; nine sons, Alfonzo (Kay) Holmes, David Holmes, Charles (Brenda) Holmes, Charlie (Belinda) Holmes, Larry Holmes, Timothy (Stella) Holmes of Hattisburg, Miss., Willie Lee Tompkins, Gary West, Bill Braxton, and Breon Dobey; four brothers, Wade Holmes, Amos (Christine) Bush, Jr., Donnie Bush, and Tommy Bush; five sisters, Mamie Holmes, Betty Coates, Annie Ruth Butler, Brenda Bush, Ann S. Morton, and Martha B. Halladay; special children, Teddy Weaver, Monique Miles, Regina Holmes, Martha Jones; in-laws, Pinky (Albert) Bryant, Dollie M. Jones, Marie (Floyd) Washington, Ernestine (Ronald) Hawkins, Irene Holmes, Justee (Michael) M. Carson, Mattie Attaway, Lizzie Weaver, and Bruce Miles; 23 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren.
