TRENTON – Services for Mr. Gerald Robert
'Jerry' Johnson will be held today,Friday, September 26, 2008 at the
Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church at 3 p.m. with burial to follow in
Mt. of Olives Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bland
Funeral Home in Johnston on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Memorials
may be made to Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church c/o of Mrs. Judy
Cockrell, 77 Murrell Road, Trenton, SC 29847. Mr. Johnson, a native of
Newberry, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008. He was a son of the late
Clarence Lee and Maggie Banks Johnson. Mr. Johnson retired from
Edgefield Co. School District in the Maintenance Department, was a
veteran having served in the US Air Force and attended Johnston
Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife: Betty (Eloise)
Murrell Johnson; daughter: Judy Lee Bledsoe (Billy); sons: Jerry Dwayne
(Debbie), James (Robbie) Robert, and Eddie Dean Johnson (Jackie);
brothers: Eddie Dearl, Keith (Juanita), Jimmy, Bobby (Bonnie), and
Earnest (Maude) Johnson; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Berry Lane Johnson and a brother,
Calvin Lee Johnson.
