Erskine Floyd Maxwell

JOHNSTON – Funeral Services for Mr.
Erskine Floyd Maxwell, 93, will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 2:30
at Johnston First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sunset
Gardens Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church
from 1:30 - 2:30 prior to the service. Bland Funeral Home is assisting
the family with arrangements. Mr. Maxwell, a son of the late BM and
Suda Maxwell was born in 1916 in DeKalb County, Alabama. He had been a
resident of Johnston from 1947 to mid-2008 when he and his wife, Oleta
Bryson Maxwell became residents of Wesley Commons, Greenwood, SC. Mr.
Maxwell was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church and the Masons.
He was past president of the Johnston Lions Club and assisted in the
startup of the Johnston Milliken Plant and retired as a Department
Manager on January 8, 1979. Survivors include his wife, Oleta Maxwell
and sons: Harold Maxwell and wife, Mickey of Williamsburg, VA and Paul
Maxwell and wife, Ronda of Marietta, GA, six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters:
Bernice Carr and Sue Thomas; brothers: Joe and Leo Maxwell, all of
DeKalb County Alabama.
