Oleta Bryson Maxwell

JOHNSTON –  Funeral services for Mrs. Oleta Bryson Maxwell, 94, will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at Johnston First Baptist Church at 11 am with burial to follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 prior to the service. Bland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mrs. Maxwell, a resident of Wesley Commons in Greenwood, SC since 2008, died Saturday, September 18, 2010. Born on November 16, 1915 inUnaka, Cherokee County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late William Dock and Ida Lucinda Bryson. Mrs. Maxwell was a longtime resident of Johnston, SC having moved there with her family in 1947. She was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church, the Gleaners Sunday School Class, was a Lioness and had been a member of Eastern Star. Mrs. Maxwell is survived by two sons: Harold Maxwell and wife, Mickey of Williamsburg, Virginia and Paul Maxwell and wife Ronda of Marietta, Georgia; her sister Virginia Ruth Wilson and husband Ralph of Elon College, NC; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Zelma Driver and Thelma Kitchens and her husband Erskine Floyd Maxwell who passed away July 14, 2009.
