Coy Thomas McDaniel

JOHNSTON – Funeral Services for Mr. Coy
Thomas McDaniel, age 86, will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11
am at Johnston First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sunset
Gardens Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Bland Funeral
Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.
Mr. McDaniel, a native of Edgefield County, died Sunday, November 6,
2011. He was a son of the late CF and Nellie Holmes McDaniel. He
retired from Milliken after 40 years of service. He served in the
Merchant Marines in World War II. Coy was an avid hunter, fisherman,
gardener and was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters: Kathy Timmerman, Aiken and Martha Jean
Bartley (Jim), Ward; son: Mike McDaniel (Patsy) of Summerville;
sisters: Anne Burkhalter, Cedartown, GA and Azelle Mundy, Belvedere;
grandchildren: Paul Timmerman (Amy), Aiken; Angie Losier, North
Augusta; Daniel Bartley (Allyson), Ward; Brad Murray (Kim) and Freddie
(Tracy) Murray, Summerville; and eight great grandchildren. Mr.
McDaniel was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Butler McDaniel.
Memorials may be made to Johnston First Baptist Church, 700 Church
Street Johnston, SC 29832.
