Raymond Merriweather, Sr.

TRENTON - Mr. Raymond Merriweather, Sr.,
60, of Courtney Road, entered into rest June 22, 2008. Funeral services
will be held 2:30 p.m. today, June 26, 2008 at Poplar Spring Baptist
Church with the Rev. Donnell Meriwether officiating. Interment will be
in the church cemetery. Mr. Merriweather, a native of Edgefield County,
was a retiree of Owensing Corning Fiberglass Co. He attended Edgefield
County Public Schools. He was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church
where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Superintendent of
Sunday School. He was also a member of King Solomon Lodge #222.
Survivors include his wife, Lizzie Young Merriweather, Trenton, S.C.;
two daughters, Marcia Gilchrist, Aiken, S.C. and Christine (Marcellous)
Mealing, Trenton, S.C.; two sons, Raymond (Denise) Merriweather, Jr.,
Parrton, N.C. and Phillip (Joanna) Merriweather, Trenton, S.C.; his
parents, Marshall and Rosa Lee Meriwether, Trenton, S.C.; three
sisters, Dianna M. Negron and Connie Meriwether, Brooklyn, N.Y. and
Doris Meriwether, Trenton, S.C.; six brothers, Sylvester (Diane)
Merriweather, Trenton, S.C., William (Janet) Meriwether, Marshall
(Talibra) Meriwether, Jeffery Meriwether, Alex (Lisa) Meriwether, and
Lance (Kim) Meriwether, Brooklyn, N.Y.; fifteen grandchildren; a host
