George T. Moore, Sr.

EDGEFIELD – George T. Moore, Sr., 85 of
Pine Knoll Lane, husband of the late Harriet A. "Betty" Moore, died
Tuesday 12/29/09 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral Services will be
held Saturday 1-2-2009 at 11 A.M. at Harmony United Methodist Church
with burial in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Moore was born in Braddock, Pa.
and was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. He was retired
Plant Manager for WABCO Union Switch and Signal. He was a Navy Veteran
of WW II where he received the Bronze Star Medal and the Victory Medal
of the American Campaign. Survivors include 1 Daughter- Marjorie M.
(Don) Cassels, Edgefield; 1 Son- Rev. G. Thomas (Kelly) Moore, Jr.,
Lexington; 6 Grandchildren- Donald G. Cassels III, Seabrook (John)
Jacob, Jennifer Kyle Cassels, George T. Moore, IV, Anna Kyle Moore, and
Grace Elizabeth Moore; 1 Great- Grandson- Collin Matthew Jacob.
Memorials may be made to Edgefield County Hospital, P.O. Box 590
Edgefield, S.C. 29824 or Harmony United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 186
Johnston, S.C. 29832. The family is at the home of Mr. Moore's daughter
on Pine Knoll Lane, Edgefield and will receive friends from 10 to 11
A.M. before the service at the Church. Edgefield Mercantile Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
