James D. Nunamaker

MERRIWETHER – Funeral Services for Mr. James D.
Nunamaker, 73, of Courtney Drive, who entered into rest November 20,
2010, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from Grace
United Methodist Church. Rev. James D. Dennis, Jr. and Dr. T. Joseph
Lusk officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park. Mr. Nunamaker
was a native of Eastover, SC, a former resident of Denmark, SC, having
made North Augusta his home for the past 47 years. He served in the
South Carolina Air National Guard and was a Letter Carrier with the
Augusta Post Office for 32 years. Mr. Nunamaker was a member of Grace
United Methodist Church and the Lake Trenton Property Owners
Association. He was an umpire and coach for many years with Dixie Youth
and American Legion Baseball. Mr. Nunamaker was preceded in death by
his parents, David C. and Mattie Metz Nunamaker and a sister, Rena
Kelley. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mrs. Betsy Graybill
Nunamaker; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Nunamaker
II, North Augusta and Richie Caudill, Salem, SC; a daughter and
son-in-law, Kim and Randy Carver, Thomson, GA; a sister, Ruth Hiers,
Charleston, SC; a brother-in-law and his wife, Rob and Barbara
Graybill, North Augusta; four grandchildren, Alyssa Wyatt (Zac), Austin
Caudill, Tripp Nunamaker and Rikki Carver. Honorary Pallbearers will be
Members of the Lake Trenton Property Owners Association, Augusta Post
Office Retirees, Henry Horton, Harold Hooks, Steve Smith, Dwight
Gilleland, Pat Arthur, Chuck Hiers, Milton Kelley and Harvey Kelley.
Active Pallbearers will be Harold Coggins, Keller Harmon, Warren
Hamilton, Rick Winter, Will Graybill, Wesley Graybill, David Blevins
and Ed Stalnaker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home
this Monday evening from 6 until 8. Memorials may be made to the Grace
United Methodist Church Building Fund, 639 Georgia Ave, North Augusta,
SC 29841. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Alliance
Hospice and his caregivers Rhonda, Rose and Latoya for their
