MERRIWETHER – Mr. William “Bill” H. Presley, Jr., husband of Carolyn Boyd Presley, of Arrowhead Lake Road, entered into rest on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Heyward Horton, Larry Cheek and Chaplain Ken Gross officiating. Interment will follow at The Haven at Arrowhead. Bill Presley was a WWII Veteran whose humble beginnings as a farmer, a US Postal mail carrier, and a self-employed landscaper grew into several successful businesses in grading, paving, real estate brokerage and land development. His philanthropic involvement in the establishment of numerous local churches furthered his ultimate goal in life which was to profess his love for the Lord. Many people have been led, and many will be led, to Christ as a result of his earthly work. Additional survivors includes three sons, David B. Presley of Martinez, GA, Gregory A. Presley of North Augusta, and Joel T. Presley and his wife Tracy of North Augusta; four daughters, Kathryn Presley Pye and her husband Andy of North Augusta, Jennifer Presley Downey and her husband Kirk of North Augusta, Kathy G. Jones and her husband Philip of Kalispell, MT, and Karen E. Lerch and her husband Bert of Boone, NC; one brother, Eric C. Presley of Charlotte, NC; one brother-in-law, Freddie Fulcher of North Augusta; sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ina Angeline Presley and Joy Dell Fulcher. The family would like to express special appreciation to Katrina Hollis and to Trinity Hospice. Pallbearers will be Drew Pye, Philip Pye, Bill Sizemore, Charlie Butler, David Presley, Jr., and Clay Presley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Presley and Gene Johnson.
