Lucy Holmes Robertson web posted July 14, 2008 EDGEFIELD – Mrs. Lucy Holmes Robertson, 89, of Red Hill Rd., wife of the late Ira Robertson, died Saturday July 12, 2008 at her Residence. Graveside services will be held Monday July 14, 2008 at 11 A.M. at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson was born in Edgefield County and was a homemaker. She Retired from the U.S. Bureau of Census and the Clemson Extension Service. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk for 22 years, WMU Director for 26 years, and the Edgefield Baptist Association clerk/treasurer for 15 years. Survivors include 2 Sons- Leonard Robertson, Gadsen, Ala., Lewis Robertson, Appling, Ga., 2 Daughters- Hazel Benedict, Las Vegas, Nev., Lena Waltz, Guyton, Ga. 5 Sisters- Emma Stone, Graniteville, Ethel Bussey, Martinez, Ga., Sarah Wates, Christine Wates, Carolyn Doolittle, all of Edgefield. 1 Brother- Floyd Holmes, Edgefield., 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and 19 Great-Great Grandchildren. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. ©
