Wallace “Bud” Robertson

EDGEFIELD – Mr. Wallace “Bud” Robertson, 84, of North Martintown Rd., husband of Essie Eubanks Robertson, died Thursday January 21, 2010 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P. M. Saturday January 23, at Antioch Baptist Church in Edgefield.

Mr. Robertson was the son of the late Wallace and Hattie Wood Robertson. He was a World War II Veteran, having served four years in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Deering Milliken as a machinery engineer for 41 years. He was a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 48 years. He was a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the choir and the Brotherhood. He was also active in American Legion Hezzie Griffis Unit 30 and Mason Concordia Lodge 50.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 Years; his children Bruce and Beth Robertson, Edgefield; his Grandchildren, Greg and Caro Robertson, New Jersey, Carole and Clint Collum, Wagner, Tracey and Paul Grandy, Edgefield, and Robbie and Josh Durham, Edgefield; his great-grands Nolan, Claire, and Carter; his special children Dolly and B.C. Padgett; his brothers and sisters James and Beatrice Eubanks, Jeanette Lee and Janie Eubanks Moore.

The family is at the home and will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
