Eula Mae Lanier Sanders

MERRIWETHER – Mrs. Eula Mae Lanier Sanders entered into rest Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia, the widow of the late Mr. Grover "G.C." Calvin Sanders. Mrs. Sanders was also preceded in death by her son, Byron Keith Sanders. Family members are two sons, Charles Joseph (Debbie) Sanders, Brunswick, Ga., Grover Keith (Terri) Sanders, II, Clarks Hill, S.C.; one daughter, Monica Sanders (John) Thurmond, Lincolnton, Ga.; one brother, Gerald "Chubby" Lanier, Evans; one sister, Edna Kelly, Savannah, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sanders was born in Augusta, a homemaker, a member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Women on Missions Class, member of the Ladies IV Sunday School Class. She prepared meals at the church on Wednesday nights for ten years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, 1859 W. Martintown Rd., North Augusta, S.C., with Dr. Phillip Burden officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Sanders Family Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be deacons of the church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ladies IV Sunday School Class. The family request flowers be omitted and contributions please be made to the Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, 1850 W. Martintown Rd., North Augusta, S.C. 29860. Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd., Martinez.
