E. "Gizzard" Scottweb posted August 5, 2008 JOHNSTON – Mr. James E. "Gizzard" Scott, age 58, 107 Bland Avenue passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Old Rosemary Baptist Church, Montmorenci, SC with Rev. Henry Curry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Aiken, SC, he attended Martha Schofield High School. At an early age, he joined Second Baptist Church, Aiken. He was a retired employee of Pendarvis Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Dealership of Edgefield, SC. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Carrie B. Scott, Johnston, SC; his daughter, Marquita L. (Terry) Washington, Augusta, GA; his son, Raymond (Melissa) Harris, Edgefield, SC; three sisters, Elizabeth (Zonnie) Jenkins, Sandra Scott (Glen) Wright, and Sandra (Mack) Scott, all of Aiken; four brothers, John Henry Winfield, MacArthur (Dorothy) Corley, Saginaw, MI, Robert (Jackie) Scott, Windsor, SC, Dennis (Shirley) Scott, Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Will Clarke, Edgefield, SC. Mr. Scott will lie in state at the church Thursday from 2 pm until the hour of service. Friends may call at his residence or at the residence of his sister, Elizabeth (Zonnie) Jenkins, 209 Stone Drive, Aiken or at the residence of his brother, John Henry Winfield, 1324 President Drive, Aiken or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home, Aiken, SC beginning 3 pm Wednesday. ©
