Fannie Mae Lanham Simpkins

Mrs. Fannie Mae Lanham Simpkins, 77, of Casalina Drive, entered into rest February 24, 2007 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Simpkins, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many capacities. Survivors include two sons, Bobby (Lucille) Simpkins and Kenneth Simpkins, Reading, Pa.; three daughters, Bernice (James) Carter, Oak Ridge, N.C., Ernestine (John) Ballard, North Augusta, S.C., and Deborah (Bruce) Nichols, Reading, Pa.; one brother, George (Effie) Lanham, North Augusta, S.C.; five sisters, Minnie Pearl McKie, Rosetta (Pierce) Colbert, and Florence (Wallace) Mealing, North Augusta, S.C., Hattie (Joseph) Brown, and Ida (Eddie) Brown, Brooklyn, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Willie Simpkins, Somerset, N.J.; sisters-in-law, Bertha Simpkins, North Augusta, Katie Lanham, Trenton, S.C., and Nora Simpkins, Cantonment, Fla.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great- grandchildren, four great-great- grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Lloyd officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, 614 West Avenue, North Augusta, S.C.
