ESTILL, S.C. - Mrs. Margaret Ann Hibbs
Tuten, 76, of Old Orangeburg Road in Estill, S.C., died suddenly
Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at her residence. Born April 24, 1932 in Vine
Grove, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Charles Owen Hibbs and
Mary Davis Hibbs. She had taught school in Trenton, S.C., Edgefield,
S.C., and at Estill Middle School in Estill, S.C. She was a member of
Phi Beta Kappa Sorority, the Order of the Eastern Star and was of the
Baptist faith. She is survived by her children, Bill and Tina Tuten of
Dallas, Texas, and Bob and Janice Tuten of Liberty, S.C.; two brothers,
John Hibbs of Lexington, Ky., and Bill Hibbs of Vine Grove, Ky.; two
sisters, Marycharles Howe of Hartford, Conn., and Susan Hibbs of
Lamoine, Maine. There are two grandchildren, Michelle and Kevin Tuten
and special friends, Tim and Marilyn Tyler of Estill, S.C. A memorial
service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 2 PM in the Edgefield
First Baptist Church in Edgefield, S.C., conducted by Rev. Stacey
Williams. Memorials in her honor may be directed to: Hampton County
Library, 12 Locust St. East, Hampton, SC 29924 or Oneida Baptist
Institute, Box 67, Oneida, KY 40972-0067. Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home,
300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) is assisting
