Magistrate Davis Parkman offers Open Letter

web posted June 16, 2010
To All Citizens of Edgefield County
It has been an honor and a privilege to have served each of the citizens of Edgefield County for the past 18 years as your magistrate. It is with mixed emotions that I retire at this time.

I would like to thank Judge Brenda B. Carpenter and all of my staff for their dedication, hard work and support over the years. I would also like to thank those who have served and continue to serve on the Edgefield County Council. The Magistrates Court has made significant improvements during my time in office thanks to these people.

I will miss my staff; Judge Carpenter, all county employees, law enforcements officers and the attorneys with whom I have had the privilege of working. I am confident you will continue to experience success as you work for the people of our county.

I wish the very best for Judge Jay McLaurin as he begins his judgeship.

May the Lord continue to bless each of you.

With kindest regards,
Davis R. Parkman
