![]() “Old tractors are like old friends... You don't give them up because they slow” web posted May 29, 2006 by Freddy Petersen Below: Rocky McKie SWEETWATER -
Watching the expression on Rocky McKie’s face as he stood beside one
his restored tractors it was easy to see this was much more to him than
just a hobby. Rocky explained, “This ole tractor has been in the
family awhile, my Dad sold it to my cousin then, then around
fifteen years later bought it back, I restored it completely from
the bottom up a couple of years ago, what you see here is the finished
product ” What I saw was impressive indeed. I only
wish we had a few before and after photo’s. That way you really
could appreciate the overall amount of work that goes into restoring
these old tractors.Farmall "M" To many of us the
words old, antique mean time to be replaced.
I’m not to sure those words are allowed even as thought patterns in
Rocky’s head. He’s restored several tractors to date even his
Grandmothers riding mower, a Cub Cadet. I asked if the Cub Cadet
had cut its last yard. Rocky smiled looking proudly and said,
“Yeah, it’s retired now, she’s just one of the collectables around
here. I have to tell you to me that riding lawnmower looked as
good as any I seen in local dealerships lately.John Deere 630 ![]() Farmall 460 ![]() For
