posted May 16, 2008
PSA – “Is Owning My Own Business The Right
Decision For Me?” A workshop on this subject will be presented June 9
from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce,
416 Calhoun Street in Johnston. This workshop is appropriate for
those who are just in the planning stages of starting a business or
those already in business. This is an overview of things that
need to be addressed to insure success. The workshop will be
presented by a panel of SCORE experts in the field of management,
finance and business planning.
Workshop materials are provided that will aid you in obtaining
information on business essentials. Topics that the workshop
covers includes: exploring if you are suited to own your own business,
legal structures, licenses and regulations. It will also explore
the difference between buying an existing business and creating a new
business. In either case marketing your business by knowing who
are your customers and competitors will be explained. Providing
quality services to gain and retain your customers will be
emphasized. Rounding the program out will be information on
financial topics such as: sources of funding, cash flow, income and
loss statements and balance sheets.
You can reserve a spot for this exciting program by calling the
Edgefield Chamber of Commerce at (803) 275-0010. The workshop
free.
