 Ridge Spring to hold special called meeting tonight web posted August 22, 2006 RIDGE SPRING – There will be a special called meeting of the Ridge Spring Town Council today (Tuesday) at 7:30 pm in the conference room of the town hall. The meeting was scheduled by councilmen Lewis Burt, Bob Nelson and Jim Saul. A meeting notice was posted on the door of the town hall but no reason for the meeting was given. According to a story published today in a local print media, Mayor Denise Martin was unaware of the meeting until she visited the town hall late Monday evening. The newspaper reported that the meeting was to consider a resolution to appoint a special committee to preside over the Monday, Aug. 28, public hearing concerning the elimination of the town's police department. Two citizens are named in the proposed resolution, but that information was not made public. For
