Blossom Beauty Queen Autumn Winn, 16,
was killed in a tragic car crash early Saturday morning. Miss Winn was
on her way home from a friend’s house when the crash occurred on US
Route 178 just a few hundred yards from her home in Saluda just after
midnight. Miss Winn
died from injuries she received in the horrific crash.Miss Winn was the daughter of Russell Wayne and Terry May Winn of Saluda. Among her many accomplishments were Palmetto Christmas Angel, Miss Peach Blossom 2006, Miss Teen Spirit 2006, Miss Poultry Festival 2nd place, Teen Miss Agra Fest 2005 2nd runner up, Harvest Festival 1st runner up, Miss Saluda County 2005, Miss Saluda County Festival 2005 and Miss Tiger Sophomore 2005 runner up. She was member of Emory United Methodist Church. Miss Winn also volunteered her time to various programs including the Saluda Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held today at the Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
