School begins today Edgefielddaily.com web posted August 8, 2005  It is that time
of year again. The day parents look forward to and children dread, the
first day of school. In addition to the back to school jitters some
children have, the most important part of the day is making sure those
who do not have children are on the look out for al the children
crossing the roads at bus stops, walking to school, or just waiting for
rides.Drivers are asked to leave a little earlier for their trip to work as school busses will be slowing traffic as they drive reduced speeds and stop traffic as they on and off load children. Officials also ask that drivers are reminded it is unlawful to pass a stopped school bus, on divided roads with a median oncoming traffic is not required to stop, but are asked to slow down when children are present.
