The Information Connection Booth at Educational Summit: A Great Resource

web posted January 29, 2008
JOHNSTON – The Second Annual Edgefield County School District’s Education Summit is just a little over a week away. The event scheduled for February 9, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 at Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School is free to all parents and the public.

A slate of dynamic speakers will present key topics to elementary, middle and high school parents. The Faith Based Community and interested citizens will attend a session that focuses on several key topics that will give them information on ways to continue the support efforts for all students.

The morning will begin with a reception from 8:30 to 9:00 for parents and citizens to have the opportunity to meet Superintendent Dr. Mary R. Crenshaw. Light refreshment will be served during this time.

The Opening Session will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with the address given by Dr. Crenshaw, followed by the breakout sessions for parents and community leaders. Attendees are encouraged to visit a variety of booths set up to receive information on nutrition for children, field trip experiences, health related information, and lots of “Tips for Parents” in the area of school work.

The day will have a festive “Family Fair” atmosphere. Several door prizes including Savings Bonds, grocery gift certificates, and a computer will be drawn for lucky winners during the day.

Mark the date and make plans to attend the Second Education Summit on February 9th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 noon.
