  Merriwether Middle and JET Middle Take Top Honors at Math Counts Competition web posted March 5, 2013 COUNTY – Merriwether Middle School received first place honors and JET Middle School received second place honors out of seven total teams at the Math Counts Competition held at Aiken Technical College on Saturday, February 23rd. Students competed in the sprint round, target round, team round, team paper airplane contest and the count down round. Edgefield County had 6 students (38%) in the top 16. The Edgefield County School District is extremely proud of both middle schools. Team members are: Merriwether - Ethan Lowe, Will Holmes, Jared Bodiford, Chandler Thacker, Emily Preachers, Jacob Hodges, Misty Henderson and Mrs. Rohr, sponsor.
