  School District Receives Unanimously Approved Accreditation web posted April 24, 2007 COUNTY – The Board of Directors of the Council on Accreditation and School Improvement of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS CASI) has unanimously approved District Accreditation for The Edgefield County School District. The Board of Directors met on April 1, 2007 and reviewed the recommendation of the Quality Assurance Review Team that conducted the on-site evaluation of The Edgefield County School District. Mark A. Elgart, Ed. D., President/Chief Executive Officer o the Council on Accreditation and School Improvement Southern Association of Colleges and Schools said, “On behalf of the SACS CASI Board of Directors I commend and congratulate you, the professional staff, the Board of Education, and stakeholders throughout the community on the historic achievement to be recognized throughout the United States as a Quality School System.” This District Accreditation recognition is for a period of five years with the provision that the school system and its schools continue to meet accreditation requirements at the district and school levels. Editor's Note: The Accreditation does not include Fox Creek Charter High School. The charter school remains unaccredited. For
