Buglary
turns into grand larceny investigation
web posted January 24, 2006 MERRIWETHER – The theft report of jewelery from a Currytown Station home has turned into a grand larceny with over $4,000 in jewelry being taken from the home. As EdgefieldDaily.com reported yesterday, a woman returned home after being out of town for an extended period of time to find the jewels missing. The woman, who lives on the 900 block of Currytown Boulevard, said that a diamond engagement ring, diamond earrings, a diamond pendant, a gold medallion, a gold cameo, an October birthstone ring, and a gold ring with three purple stones were taken. She reported the value of the jewelry to be $4,300. There was no evidence of forced entry into the home and the crime scene was dusted for fingerprints. Some prints were said to have been found and names of individuals known to have access to the home were to be forthcoming in the near future. The case has been turned over to investigators and the investigation is continuing. Grand larceny, as well as burglary, is a felony charge. Due to no one being home at the time of the theft the degree of the burglary charge would depend on the time of the incident occurred. For
