web posted February 1, 2006 Summary of Crime Report – Edgefield County Sheriff's Office Year 2005 – With Clearance Update As provided by the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office January 31, 2006 Group A Incidents List contains the following: Classification, Number of crimes, Number cleared, Percentage cleared for 2005 Murder: 0 Rape, Forcible: 1, 1, 100% Robbery: 2, 1, 50% Aggravated assault: 31, 22, 71% Index Violent: 34 crimes , 24 cleared , 88% Group B Incidents List contains the following: Classification, Number of crimes, Number cleared, Percentage cleared for 2005 Breaking/Entering: 82, 58, 74% Larceny: 206, 82, 40% Vehicle theft: 26, 8, 31% Index non-violent: 314 crimes, 148 cleared, 47.1% Index totals: 348 crimes, 172 cleared, 49.4% Additional listings include “other forcible sex” crimes investigated as: 6 investigated, 2 cleared, for a total of 33%. These numbers represent cases that generally were passed on to the Department of Juvenile Justice where the remaining cases were cleared or closed by them or other agencies and are not reflected in the numbers above.
