Arrests pending as investigators work recent theft cases
web
posted February 26, 2009
EDGEFIELD – Edgefield County Sheriff’s
Investigators are closing in on suspects in some of the most recent
thefts and have already issued an arrest warrant in one case and is
seeking a warrant in a second. That is good news as the number of
recent burglaries and thefts have escalated in the past two weeks.
The quick resolution of the cases is a testament to the work of
investigators as they work to solve the crimes while having additional
cases build in number. So far for the month of February at least 32
cases of actual or attempted burglary, larceny, break-ins, or auto
thefts have been reported by Wednesday.
That is in addition to the caseload that already existed before this
month.
Which thefts have been solved is not being publicly released at this
time to protect the integrity of the cases and the apprehension of
those suspected to be responsible.
The felony warrants are, or have been, issued after investigators
followed evidence collected at the crime scenes and interviews
conducted afterwards. The additional unsolved cases are still being
actively perused.
It is important to note that not all burglaries or thefts are reported
by EdgefieldDaily.com and the arrests may or may not be a party to
published reports.
The arrests could come by the end of the week, investigators said.
