Man reports assault with gun

web posted March 31, 2006

SWEETWATER – A man called the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office to report another man pulling a gun on him Wednesday afternoon. Deputies responded to the location the victim was to be waiting for them on the corner of Highway 25 and Community Road.

When deputies arrived, the victim could not be located so deputies patrolled the area looking for the victim and the alleged suspect. A short time later the man described as the suspect was spotted walking down Community Road and he was held at gunpoint until he could be cuffed and searched due to the report of the gun.

During the pat down the man began yelling and cursing the deputies. Told several times to calm down the man continued to curse and became more vulgar. When Curtis Rena Hill, 28, of Casalina Drive, refused the orders of police, he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

He was booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center and was released Thursday.
