Two Johnston men charged in animal abuse
case Edgefielddaily.com web posted June 14, 2005 Two Johnston men have been arrested and charged with ill treatment of animals after two pit bulls were observed having logging chains and weights attached to the collars of the two dogs. Robert Brandon Knight, 22 of Railroad St. and Stepfon Andjuan Bush, 22 of Edisto St Johnston were taken into custody on Friday, June 10, 2005. Investigator Randy Doran said on June 4 he observed the dogs struggling to drag the heavy chains and weights as they tried to move around. One dog had an eight foot section of logging chain attached to the color which also had two sixteen pound weights on the chain. The other pit bull had a ten foot section of logging chain weighing approximately thirty pounds around her neck. The chains and weights were taken into custody and warrants were issued for the two men. The men were told not to remove the dogs from the Edisto St. property. People will put chains and weights on pit bulls in order to bulk them up for fighting. It was not clear if the dogs have been taken into custody at this writing. Return to Main Page
