Edgefielddaily.com
web posted June 27, 2005

A large tree fell across Highways 283, or Plum Branch Road, around 9:00 pm as storms moved through the area blocking both lanes of traffic. Edgefield County Deputies were called to the scene as well as SC Highway Patrol and the South Carolina DOT.

Workers began removing the tree around 9:30 pm by cutting the tree into piece and hauling it away. Traffic was diverted until all the debris could be cleared. There was one reported accident due to the fallen tree with minor injuries. Traffic was returned to normal in about an hour and a half.
