Sheriff’s Department continues arresting
drug dealers Edgefielddaily.com web posted July 27, 2005 EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department continues taking area drug dealers off the streets. As Edgefield Daily.com reported on the arrests of four men last week the latest to be charged is Melvin Joe Dobbs. Dobbs was booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center with charges of manufacturing-distribution of crack cocaine, 1st offense, and two counts of manufacturing-distribution-possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute on July 15, 2005. Deputy Robbie Harter said the reports did not list the amount of drugs seized by deputies. Sheriff Adell Dobey said in an earlier release, “These arrests are just part of our continuing effort to keep drugs off our streets.” The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate drug activity in the county.
