  Investigators seek to locate getaway truck in Friday’s armed robbery web posted July 23, 2008  EDGEFIELD –
Sheriff’s Investigators are
actively investigating the armed robbery at Kent’s Corner last Friday
night and have released video footage in hopes of gaining information
to identify the robbers or locating the getaway truck, Chief
Investigator Randy Doran said Tuesday. The truck was said to be a late
80’s or early 90’s model Ford F-150 short extended cab, burgundy in
color with a wide light color strip along the bottom of the body. “It
is a real nice truck,” Inv. Doran said adding that it appeared to be
well kept and in very good condition. The robbers are
believed to be between the ages of 18 to 26 years old
with one being approximately 5’ 7” tall and the other the same age
range standing around 5’ 10” tall. Both men were said to weigh
approximately 160-180 pounds. One suspect has tattoos on his arms with
a long one on the back of his right arm. The pair, one armed with a gun and the second with mace, took only seconds to pull off the robbery and left the store and ran behind the business next door where the red truck was used to escape in an unknown direction.  The truck is seen in
surveillance footage passing back and
forth in front of the store several times before the 10 pm robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office at 803-637-5337. You can remain anonymous to provide information. ©
