 Alleged shooter charged in attempted murder web posted August 15, 2006  COUNTY – The alleged shooter in an attempted murder has
been charged at
the Edgefield County Detention Center on Friday. Toreeze Marquel Moten,
17, of the 4000 block of Fulcher Road in Hephzibah, Ga. was formally
charged with assault and battery with the intent to kill, possession of
a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of an
unlawful pistol.Mr. Moten was arrested a short time after a shooting took place in the front yard of the 19 year-old victim’s home on Sandy Hills Court, just off Highway 25 on August 1. He was airlifted to the MCG Trauma Unit via an AirMed helicopter. Two Edgefield County Deputies working in tandem were able to bring Mr. Moten into custody without incident using their training and familiarity of the area. Presently Mr. Moten is being held on a $100,000 surety bond at the Edgefield County Detention Center. No court date was available at this time. The victim in the shooting was reported to be recovering from the near fatal wound to the chest. For
