 Narcotic Investigators arrest suspected drug dealer web posted August 18, 2009 TRENTON – Edgefield County Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigators have arrested an Augusta Georgia man on multiple drugs charges as part of an ongoing undercover investigation. 20-year-old Jeremy Marquez Smith, of Glenn Hill Circle in Augusta, was taken into custody after a traffic stop on Edgefield Road. Undercover investigations provided investigators with enough information to conduct a traffic stop once they located the car he was traveling in on Highway 25 and took Smith into custody immediately. A woman and her 4-year-old son, traveling with Smith, were released from the scene. Smith was searched after his arrest and was found to be in possession of drug related items and over $100 in cash, which was seized. He has been charged with distribution of crack cocaine and child endangerment. He is currently being held at the Edgefield County Detention Center. The arrest was made on August 7; however, reports of the arrest were not available until Monday. Additional charges and arrests could be pending the outcome of the investigation. © Copyright 2009
