Death of Trenton woman ruled accidental web posted August 29, 2007 EDGEFIELD – The investigation into the death of a Trenton woman has been completed and ruled accidental Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Randy Doran said Tuesday. Hazel Rosier, 37, of Nicholson Road, died last Wednesday from injuries she received in a horseback riding accident at Mount Vintage Plantation on Thursday, August 16. According to Investigator Doran Mrs. Rosier and her husband met with the owner of the horse, viewed and talked about the horse, and all parties left. The Rosiers returned at a later time, unknown to the owner of the horse, and Mrs. Rosier tried to ride the horse bareback. It was then Mrs. Rosier was thrown from the horse and struck her head. She was taken by her husband to Aiken Regional Hospital where she was treated and released. During the night Mrs. Rosier complained of head pain and was taken back to the hospital on Friday morning and was later rushed to the MCG Trauma Unit. By Sunday Mrs. Rosier’s condition deteriorated and she was placed on life support. She remained on life support until August 23 and died minutes after the support was removed. Investigator Doran said the autopsy found the injury was “consistent” with falling from a horse. “The case is closed,” he said. This is the third accidental death the Sheriff’s Office has investigated this year. The first came in May when 53-year-old Sandra Taylor died in an industrial accident. Jennie Stiner Rodgers, 56 died in June, also from a horseback riding accident. For
